Booking jobs

Attach named tasks to an event so players can volunteer to handle them — court bookings, ball retrieval, or anything else the session needs.

Booking jobs are small to-do items you attach to an event — "reserve courts", "bring extra balls", "set up the net" — and your players can claim them from their personal schedule link. No group text thread, no manual tracking: the event page shows who signed up for what.

Creating a booking job

You can add jobs at two points.

When creating the event — the create form has a booking jobs section where you type one task per field. Every job you add at create time stamps onto every event in a recurring series automatically, so you only set up recurring tasks once.

After the event exists — open the event in your Scheduler and add a job from the booking-jobs section. Add as many as you need, edit any task description, or remove individual ones. A clear-all action is also available if you want to start fresh.

Editing a job description preserves any volunteer replies already on it — useful for typo fixes or clarifications without losing who already claimed the task.

How players respond

Players see a 📋 Help Needed section on their event detail page (the page they reach from their personal schedule link). Each job shows its task description, the names of everyone who has already volunteered, and a text field to leave a note. If no one has volunteered yet, the field shows "No volunteers yet" and the placeholder reads "I can help! (add a note...)". The Volunteer Status button submits the note. Once a player has volunteered, the same field shows their existing note and the button changes to ✅ Update so they can revise it.

A player can volunteer from their link even before their formal invite arrives, if auto-invite is set up for the event.

Push notification on new jobs

When you add a booking job after the event is live, players who have RSVP'd In, are on the waitlist (including partner-waitlisted), or have posted in the event chat receive a push notification. The notification title reads "New help needed" and the body shows your task description (up to 200 characters). Tapping it opens the booking-jobs section on the player's schedule page directly.

Push notifications are only sent when a job is added — editing a task description does not re-notify. Organizers receive a push when a player volunteers or updates their response.

Recurring series

Booking jobs set at create time propagate to every date in the series. When an event is duplicated (copy-event), the jobs are copied across but their volunteer replies are cleared, so each copied event starts fresh.

Removing jobs

Delete a single job with the remove action next to it — replies on that job are discarded. Clear all removes every job from the event at once.
