Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using picklefriend.net, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. User Conduct

Users of picklefriend.net agree to:

• Use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes unless on the Club plan or otherwise authorized by picklefriend.net (see Section 4)
• Not harass, abuse, or harm other users or players
• Not use picklefriend.net for any illegal or unethical activity
• Not use picklefriend.net to spam or send unsolicited messages or invites

3. Content

Users retain ownership of their content but grant picklefriend.net a license to display and store that content. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms.

If you turn on a public ratings page, a public schedule, or an embed for your group, you are publishing your players' names and results on the open web. You are responsible for having the right to do that; a per-player “Hide from public pages” switch is available in your Players list for anyone who should be left out.

We reserve the right to remove players, users, groups, or games that have been inactive for more than two years. We reserve the right to remove excessive users, groups, players, or games, or limit the number of users, groups, players, or games that can be created.

4. Subscriptions, Paid Plans & Commercial Use

picklefriend.net offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (currently Lite, Pro, and Club). Free accounts are subject to usage limits (for example, on the number of stored players, groups, and sub-organizers, on how many saved players launch into the mixer at once, and on how long an unsaved mixer session is kept between visits); paid plans raise or remove those limits. The specific limits and prices are described on the pricing page and may change over time.

Billing & trial. Paid plans are billed annually through PayPal. The first time an account subscribes to a given plan, it starts with a free trial (currently 10 days): you are not charged until the trial ends, and you may cancel before then through PayPal to avoid any charge. Each plan comes with one free trial per account. If you subscribe again to a plan you have already had (whether you trialed it and left, or paid for it and let it lapse), billing starts the day you subscribe. A trial on one plan does not use up the trial on another, with one exception: if you move up from a paid plan that still has time left, your unused time carries over to the new plan instead of a trial (see Moving up a plan below). The checkout page always states whether a trial is included. Subscriptions renew automatically each year unless cancelled. The price you sign up at is the price honored for that subscription; we may change list prices for new subscriptions at any time without affecting existing subscribers.

Moving up a plan. If you move from one paid plan to a higher one, your old PayPal subscription is cancelled at checkout and the unused part of what you paid for it is carried over as time on the new plan (its value divided by the new plan's yearly price), not refunded. There is no free trial on top of carried-over time; your first charge for the new plan comes when that time runs out. If you cancel the new plan before its first charge, you keep the new plan until the carried-over time ends, and the account then returns to the free tier.

Renewing, ending, and stopping billing. If your paid plan has an end date and no active subscription (for example, you cancelled the renewal in PayPal), you can set up a renewal ahead of time from the upgrade page: it is billed when your current plan ends, not before. We warn you before a paid plan ends without renewing: by email about 14 days ahead, and in the app during the final week. You can stop billing at any time from Profile → Plan & Billing without deleting your account; deleting your account also cancels any active PayPal subscription. The free first month of score entry that every account receives is a promotional grant, separate from what any plan includes, and ends on schedule whatever plan you are on.

Commercial use. The free, Lite, and Pro tiers are available to any organizer running personal or community play, including volunteer-run and non-profit clubs, leagues, and open-play groups of any size. Commercial operators (a facility, business, or other for-profit venture that charges for the play it runs with picklefriend.net, or runs that play as part of a paid service) must use the Club plan. Collecting court fees or dues to cover costs is not commercial use. We may require an account to move to the Club plan to continue commercial use.

Existing accounts (grandfathered). Accounts created on or before June 8, 2026 are grandfathered: you may continue your current usage (including any existing commercial use) at no charge, and you will not be required to move to a paid plan to keep what you already have. The Club requirement for commercial use described above applies to accounts created after that date. We reserve the right to require the Club plan only for new or substantially expanded commercial use.

Refunds & lapses. If you cancel or a subscription lapses, your groups, rosters, ratings, and game history are not deleted; you return to the free-tier limits: you cannot add beyond them until you renew, and launching the mixer from a saved group brings in up to the free-tier number of players at a time (the rest stay saved and can be added by hand). The one exception is cloud session backups: cloud copies of mixer sessions are removed 30 days after a paid plan lapses, so renew or load them down to your device within that window. To request a refund, contact us via the link below; refunds are at our discretion and reverse any benefits they generated.

Referral rewards. We may offer promotional rewards (such as free subscription time for referring other organizers). Any such offer is promotional, subject to its stated terms, and may be modified or discontinued at any time; rewards already granted are honored.

5. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy also governs your use of picklefriend.net. Please review it to understand how we collect and use your information.

6. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that violate these terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

8. Disclaimer

picklefriend.net is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
