Score kiosk link

A no-login link for a tablet or phone at the desk, where anyone can enter tonight's final scores. How to open one, what it can and can't change, and how to undo a kiosk score.

A score kiosk link turns a tablet or phone at the desk into a score station. Anyone there can enter a court's final score for tonight, with no sign-in. The score saves at once, exactly as if you had typed it.

This is different from Big-screen kiosk entry, which runs inside your own signed-in Mixer.

On the Mixer, open the 📺 menu and choose Score kiosk (link)…, then create a link. Each device gets its own link ("Kiosk 1", "Kiosk 2", …), up to 5 at a time.

  • The link is shown only once. Open it on the device right away.
  • It lasts for tonight only. A link stops working when you end the session, or 18 hours after you created it, whichever comes first.
  • Revoke a link from the same dialog if a device goes missing. The night carries on.

Creating a kiosk link makes your session live on the server, as the shared TV board does, so each round reaches the kiosk. If no auto-mix is running, send each new mix with 📺. A Nonstop night is already live, so there is nothing to send.

What the kiosk can score

The kiosk lists tonight's courts: every court of the current round, plus any court carried over from an earlier round. On a Nonstop Courts night it lists the game on each court and each court's last finished game. A Nonstop night started with Scores set to Not recorded has no kiosk, because there are no scores to enter.

  • A court with no score yet: enter any score, ties included.
  • A court where a player already reported: the kiosk shows the reported score and offers Confirm. It can only confirm that exact score; it never replaces a player's report.
  • A disputed court: the kiosk can't score it. You settle it.
  • A court that is already saved: the kiosk can't change it.

Checking and undoing kiosk scores

Every kiosk score is marked with the kiosk's name ("Kiosk 2") in the kiosk dialog, in Enter Scores, and in big-screen score entry. From the dialog, Undo removes the score and reverses its rating change. The court then opens for a new score. Usually that takes a moment; if your group has other ratings still being processed, it can take a minute or two.

Plans

Kiosk scores are recorded scores, so the kiosk follows the same plan rules as any score entry. The plan that counts is the group owner's.
